Bermudian insurer in potential payout over Willis settlement

Bermudian (re)insurer XL may have to pay out up to $50m to cover E&O insurance costs for Willis' settlement with CNA, Reinsurance has learned.

Broker Willis' decision to settle its case with CNA over the placement of personal accident excess-of-loss reinsurance in the mid-to-late 1990s may cost the Bermudian (re)insurer XL around $25-50m
