Last week I undertook the first leg of my eating tour of the Middle East, or as I sold it to my employers, “covering the Middle East Insurance Forum in Bahrain”.

In between sating my desire for humus and pitta bread (two of the most delectable items to ever pass human lips) and cinnamon tea (a new favourite), I found time to attend some conference sessions.
