Lancashire launches Saltire sidecar

Bermudian insurer and reinsurer Lancashire Holdings is to create a new sidecar, Saltire Re I.

The special purpose insurer will have $250m in capacity, with share capital owned by a syndicate of investors.

Lancashire will invest roughly $33m in Saltire Re, which will underwrite from January's
