Japanese mutual to cut third of department staff after implementing AI system

A Japanese life insurance mutual is preparing to cut nearly a third of its payment assessment department's workforce after introducing Artificial Intelligence System IBM Watson.

Fukoku Life is preparing to make around 34 staff redundant by the end of March, according to Japanese newspaper The Manichi.

The firm said that the technology is already being used to analyse
