RSA "ahead of curve" with cuts

Adrian Brown

RSA UK chief executive Adrian Brown has said the insurer's swingeing job cuts last year meant it was "ahead of the curve" in responding to the tough economic conditions.

The insurer has reported a 7% growth in premium to £697m in the first quarter of 2010 compared to the same period a year earlier.

Personal lines premiums in the UK rose 6% to £280m (Q1 2009: £263m)
