The Home Office has exempted the insurance industry from the Equality Act, allowing underwriters to continue using age as a risk factor. But will Europe intervene as it did with gender?

While any efforts to eradicate discrimination from society are undoubtedly worthwhile, attempts to bring in legislation to this effect have proved problematic, especially for the insurance industry.
