Insurers
Argo Global
Ross MacDonald, formerly of Zurich Global Corporate, is to join Argo Global as deputy general liability class underwriter. At Zurich, MacDonald was casualty specialty lines team leader where he managed seven underwriters working across the general liability, employers’ liability, product recall and environmental liability product lines. Prior to joining Zurich, MacDonald was a senior casualty broker at JLT.

Barbican
Part of the Barbican Insurance Group, Barbican Protect has appointed Radhika Patel as an assistant underwriter from Allianz Commercial UK. Patel started with Allianz in 2013 and prior to that role was a commercial underwriter for Axa Insurance, also in commercial lines. The appointment was made with immediate effect.

Covéa

The insurer has appointed Linda Granger as household underwriting manager. Granger joins from 12 years at Zurich and has held positions in high-net-worth home and personal lines home, alongside roles in broker development over her 30 year career. She reports to director of pricing and underwriting for personal lines, Gary Yeates.

JLT Re

Martin Stephenson will begin working with JLT’s marine and energy division, chairing the division’s management committee and the JLT Re UK and Europe broker management committee. Stephenson was previously managing director at Cooper Gay & Co and Newman, Martin and Buchan. He will move to JLT Re subject to the fulfilment of his existing contractual obligations.

Brokers
Arthur J Gallagher
Tim Fisher will join the firm as joint managing director of the trade credit and surety practice. Fisher joins from Marsh where he was head of its UK and Ireland trade credit practice.

BMS
BMS Group has appointed Ryan Jones as director of cyber risk intelligence. Jones has extensive experience as a cyber risk specialist and has advised a number of reinsurance brokers, Lloyd’s syndicates and reinsurance businesses on cyber protection, risk management and building and managing enterprise risk management programmes.

Underwriting
CFC
Andrew Prendergast will join CFC’s corporate cyber underwriting team from Aspen. Predergast spent four years as technology and cyber underwriter for Aspen, following seven years in broking at CJ Coleman and Heath Lambert. He can be contacted on 0207 220 8500 or aprendergast@cfcunderwriting.com

MGAs
One Commercial
One Commercial has appointed Steve Moore to the role of regional sales manager for the Midlands and the South West. Moore joins from Willis, where he was business development manager covering Central and Southern UK. Previously he worked for both NIG and Avon Insurance.

Loss Adjusters
Crawford and Co
Crawford has added Rowena Byrne-Jones as director of casualty specialty risks, working on its recently launched financial lines claims service. Byrne-Jones has held senior roles at Argent.

Questgates
Questgates has made two hires as it undertakes a review of its major loss proposition. Both Graham Eades and Mike Ledgerton will step into the company as major loss directors. Eades joins from Argent and has worked in the sector for more than 35 years. Ledgerton joins from Woodgate & Clark and has previously worked for Cunningham Lindsey and McLarens.

Service Providers
Advent
Jerry McArthur will take on the role of CEO from FTI Consulting, where he founded and led its EMEA insurance practice. McArthur founded Claims Management Group and remained CEO until 2007, when it was sold to Capita. Once his notice period is completed he will move into the role at Advent, which provides support services for delegated authority underwriting businesses and global claims TPA services.

Legal
DWF
DWF has added to its national counter-fraud team, appointing Miles Hepworth who was DAC Beachcroft’s national head of technical fraud. Hepworth will further strengthen DWF’s fraud capabilities and profile in the market. He will be based at the company’s Birmingham office.
