Career development: BHSF retains community gong at Midlands Business Awards

trophy

Health insurer BHSF has been handed an award for corporate commitment to its community for the second year running.

The firm, which covers health, employee benefits and HR support services, is one of Birmingham's oldest companies, and covers more than 400 000 people under health and accident insurance policies.

In winning the Midlands Business Awards gong, it defeated four other shortlisted firms, with its employee-led community support programme impressing judges.

BHSF chief executive Peter Maskell, HR director David Nuttall, and two members of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility committee, Rachel Crump and Kate Statham, accepted the award.

Delighted with the recognition of the company's hard work, Maskell said: "CSR has always been a large part of BHSF's ethos, and as the business grows we increase employee engagement in our programme which supports seven CSR partners and a number of other worthy causes".

The award was presented by ITV presenter Lucy Kite at a presentation dinner at the Birmingham Metropole Hotel.
