Aon in airline account wins

After articles last week detailing major airline losses for Aon, the broker has also won accounts during the heady renewals season, Reinsurance has learned.

Market sources told Reinsurance that Aon had won Egypt Air, Tunis Air and Libyan Airlines  and Carribbean Airlines and the London order of United Airlines. Market sources said that Egypt Air was won from Marsh.

It iis not known where Tunis Air, Libyan Airlines, Carribbean and the United account wins came from.

Last week Reinsurance noted that Aon had lost well-known accounts Ryanair and Thai Airlines to Marsh, and it also lost Aero, the Mexican airline. There has been speculation that Marsh had won the Kuwait Airlines from Aon but sources close to the broker said that it was never the broker for the Middle Eastern air service.

Sources also said that Marsh has won Air India and Indian Airlines accounts from Aon.

Both Marsh and Aon declined to comment.
