Insurance Telematics 2015 – Speaker: Dan Freedman

Dan Freedman has had a varied 15 year career in financial services. He has worked in retail banking, life insurance, investment research and is currently Head of Motor Development at Direct Line Group.

Throughout his career, Freedman has looked for opportunities to drive innovation and disruption, with stints as a funeral planning marketeer, an expert network entrepreneur, and most recently, a telematics professional.

As head of motor development, Freedman leads Direct Line Group's telematics activities across its personal lines brands and on behalf of Direct Line Group's partners. While Direct Line Group is a relatively new entrant into this field, it has made substantial progress in developing and scaling its telematics operation over the last 18 months.

While telematics takes up the bulk of Freedman 's time, he is also responsible for developing Direct Line Group's new Motor products and services more generally.

Freedman studied Physics at Bristol University and has an MBA from Manchester University. He lives in Reading with his wife Sarah and two young children.
