Having read the article on the authorities’ slow reactions to metal theft I wanted to highlight that another area being targeted by thieves is motor catalytic converters.

These contain ounces of precious metals - apparently the going-price at a scrap yard for an ‘uncontested' cat converter is £100 cash, no questions asked - which, when stripped down
