As Christmas day draws near lawyers this week branded the Association of British Insurers’ legal challenge over the government’s discount rate review as “worthy of Scrooge himself”.

The trade body is calling on the government to complete its consultation and change the methodology for the discount rate for personal injury damages before proceeding, claiming that without doing so
