Anthem to acquire Cigna for $54.2bn
US health insurer Anthem has agreed to buy Cigna in a deal that values the latter at $54.2bn (£34.9bn).
Anthem will pay $103.40 in cash and 0.5152 shares of its own stock in exchange for each Cigna share, resulting in an offer worth approximately $188 per Cigna share.
