Costa Concordia captain sentenced for manslaughter
Francesco Schettino, the captain of the stricken cruise ship Costa Concordia, has been sentenced to 16 years in jail.
In addition to manslaughter, Schettino was found guilty of causing the initial phase of the disaster and of abandoning his post. The 16 year sentence, 10 years less than prosecutors had been asking
