Mr Jones will replace the departing Mr Hancox on 1 April and will report to Evander Group chief executive Jonathan Simpson-Dent.
Mr Simpson-Dent said "I am sorry to see Simon leave the business but I respect his decision and would like to thank him for his contribution in the development of Evander Validation Services and the Evander Group, and for his support to me personally. I wish him every success in the future."
He added: "Whilst this has been a very difficult decision to make for me personally, it is absolutely the right one for the business and me. I would like to thank Jonathan, Colin and other Evander colleagues for their support over the last 12 months and beyond and wish Evander the success it deserves over the coming years."
