NYSE suspends Annuity & Life Re shares

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has announced the suspension Annuity & Life Re’s common shares. The company has not protested the suspension.

The suspension was due to the fact that Annuity Life & Re’s average closing price has been less than $1.00 over a consecutive 30-trading-day period.

This is the second time in a year that Annuity & Life Re’s shares have been below this standard. The previous occurence took place between April and October 2003. The NYSE has the authority to suspend a security if it believes that continued dealings in the security on the NYSE are not advisable.
